This 60-minute webinar will review proposals by the US government and other countries, primarily members of the European Union, to require climate change reports in many circumstances.  These reports, commonly referred to as Carbon emission disclosures, will require man companies to report on their carbon emission “footprint” due to business operations, including “upstream” and “downstream” sources.  Those upstream and downstream sources include third parties which are involved in the supply chain of products and services, such as energy inputs, raw materisl, distribution outlets, and end user emissions.  Thse regulations will beging with banks and financial institutions and over time expand into other industrial sectors.

The purposes of these reports include informing investors and potential business partners of the climate change impact of those they do business with.  The reports will also help to inform national and international goals of meeting climate change goals over future years.  The webinar will introduce trainees to these proposals and what to expect as the regulations are developed and implemented.
