Heat-related illnesses occur when a person is exposed to hot and humid work environments, whether inside or outside. These illnesses and resulting injuries are mostly preventable, but the indicators are sometimes not recognized. Under the politicized “climate change” agenda, OSHA is reacting to heat-related illnesses with proposed rulemaking and with a National Emphasis Program.
