Summer is here. School is just about over. Young teens are starting summer jobs. Teens work in almost all fields in all bottom rung positions. Many of these jobs can be dangerous. Youth work in industries ranging from retail, restaurants, delivery services, landscaping, and agriculture to residential construction,

Young workers are not as prepared and experienced as older adults when it comes to identifying and avoiding safety risks and hazards while on the job and are more apt to be injured.  Young workers are not always aware that the jobs they do can be hazardous. In addition, teens tend to believe they are unable to be injured.

By following the basic laws and standards governing teen workers, and by taking some precautions and conducting adequate training, teen workers can have a safe, productive, profitable summer.
